From Pine Lake in Otter Tail County, Jake journeyed south by southwest and entered the Minnesota River Valley far northwest of Pajutazee (Upper Sioux Agency). He travelled the south side of the Minnesota River Valley passing through Redwood (Lower Sioux Agency) before crossing at Fort Ridgely.

HAWK OWEN
From Pine Lake in Otter Tail County, Hawk journeyed southeast though Saint Cloud to the Battle on Elk River. His journey continued southeast through Anoka and Saint Paul. From there he journeyed southwest along the south side of the Minnesota River Valley through Mendota, Shakopee, and Mankato. He turned northwest and crossed at New Ulm to reach Fort Ridgely. He travelled as far northwest as Hawk Creek.

JOHN OWEN
Like Hawk, John journeyed southeast from Pine Lake in Otter Tail County to Saint Cloud. From there, he continued east to the Rum River, south to Anoka, then southeast to Saint Paul.
